Paralympics are full of people and stories that are enough to inspire the human race till the next apocalypse. And one such inspiring story is of an Egyptian Table Tennis player, Ibrahim Hamato . Hamato lost both his hands in a tragic train accident when he was 10 years old.
He loved Table Tenis and 3 years into the accident he really wanted to be able to play again.
After trying a lot of permutations to hold the TT bat, he started to play by holding the bat in his mouth and established a grip over it with the help of his teeth. He swings it so perfect that the world stares wide-eyed.
He has played with TT legends like Jun Mizutani, Wang Hao, and everyone seems to marvel at his ability and energy. Ibrahim says that it’s his wife and family that gives him the strength to do better every day.

In his Paralympic debut this year, Ibrahim lost his battle to the world number four David Wetherill from Britain but said that he was humbled to be able to play against some of the greatest people in the world.
It’s not about winning or losing. It’s about what you feel a deep passion for and then it’s about hard work. Ibrahim is an example, that there is nothing in the world, NOTHING, that has got the grit to stop you.
